Secondary Market - Sinqia/Evertec

End-to-End Product

Problem Statement

Trading assets on the secondary market is often an intimidating, low-liquidity environment for non-expert users. Clients struggled to price their shares and understand transfer fees, and felt uneasy navigating a process lacking legal and financial clarity—resulting in high abandonment rates before sales were completed.

Outcome

A secure and transparent platform that demystifies the trading of contract assignments. The product simplifies the connection between buyers and sellers, featuring an interface that clearly displays discount calculations, fees, and the final transaction value in real time. The ownership transfer process has been redesigned to ensure legal certainty without overwhelming the user.

Objectives

Develop a secondary market environment that offers the same fluidity as e-commerce while maintaining the rigor and security required for complex financial transactions.

  • Simplify the pricing and offering of shares, providing immediate clarity regarding face value versus market value.

  • Create a secure transfer flow (checkout) featuring validation steps and handoffs that are transparent to both parties.

  • Reduce user anxiety through a real-time status dashboard for ongoing transactions.

KPI

Volume of completed secondary market transactions · Reduction in average ownership transfer time

Problem statement

Designing for the secondary market within the Sinqia/Evertec ecosystem required a delicate balance between simplifying the interface and maintaining absolute rigor regarding financial compliance. In this context, effective design relies heavily on sharp, precise communication.

Working in constant synergy with multidisciplinary squads, I focused my efforts on three pillars to ensure the product's viability:

  • Strategy and Business Rules: Direct, daily collaboration with Product Owners and Product Managers to translate complex logic—regarding fund transfers, liquidity, and fees—into a visually clean user journey that made sense to the end user.

  • Handoff Efficiency (DesignOps Perspective): I structured rigorous visual and technical documentation for the development team. The goal was to map out exception flows (edge cases) and micro-interactions in detail, eliminating technical ambiguity and accelerating implementation.

  • Quality in Critical Scenarios: Working side-by-side with the QA team to validate interface behavior during financial transactions. This ensured the experience remained fluid and secure, even when the system encountered error scenarios or complex legal validation requirements.
